LUON e-mail messages and any attached files are for the designated recipient only and may contain privileged, proprietary, or otherwise private information. GENERAL PRIVACY POLICY STATEMENT
LUON, Brusselsesteenweg 560, 3090 Overijse,
offers you a 100% guarantee that your privacy will be respected.
The law of 8 December 1992 on the protection of privacy entitles
you to check and, if necessary, correct this information. You have
also the right to object, and this freely, to the use of the collected
information. In this document, we show you what information gathers,
and what exactly happens to your details. If you have further questions,

1. Information collection:
LUON undertakes not to record or
hold any personal details (i.e. surname, first name, company, sex,
age, address, telephone number, e-mail address) unless it has been
provided by the person concerned via a form. This means that LUON
will only collect and hold personal details that you have voluntarily
provided us with via a form on our site, or that you have provided
us with via e-mail correspondence. In detail:
- If you visit the
LUON site, LUON may only check the IP address from which
you are operating.
- LUON will only process personal details (i.e. surname, first
name, address, e-mail, company, date of birth, sex) that has been
collected via a form.
- If you request information via e-mail, your details (i.e. your
name and e-mail address) will only be used to provide you with
information on the topic you specify in the e-mail.
- Persons subscribing to the LUON community newsletter are
entered on a database together with their details (i.e. surname,
first name, address, e-mail, company, date of birth, sex). LUON
community members subscribe of their own free will via a form provided
for the purpose.
- The details of persons responding to a job vacancy via e-mail
will only be used in connection with subsequent job interviews,
and not for marketing or commercial purposes.
- LUON will process the details (i.e. surname, first name,
address, e-mail, company, date of birth, sex) of visitors who request
a document about e-mail marketing on the LUON site. Visitors
provide these details of their own free will via a form provided
for the purpose.
- LUON does not use cookies.
2. Use of information:
LUON complies with the law of 8 December
1992 on the protection of privacy and will only proceed to process
(i.e. collect, store, delete, consult and use) personal details
if:
- The personal details derive from a person who has explicitly,
i.e. via a form, given permission for his/her personal details
to be accessed and used.
- The processing of these personal details is necessary in order
to carry out the operation for which the person concerned has provided
his/her personal details. On our LUON site this relates to:
- The details of persons subscribing to the LUON community
newsletter. This information is processed exclusively with a view
to managing and providing this newsletter efficiently. LUON
will only use the information in connection with this newsletter.
LUON undertakes not to use this information for any other purpose.
Moreover, with each newsletter the subscriber will be given the
chance to cancel his/her subscription. In this case, this person's
details will be deleted from the community database, as requested
by him/her.
- Persons requesting a document via a form. Such persons make their
details available purely for this purpose. They are also free to
choose to subscribe to a newsletter or to be contacted by our company.
In accordance with the law, LUON undertakes only to hold and
process personal details for the purposes requested by the person
concerned.
3. The principles of legitimacy, honesty, finiteness,
proportionality and quality:
LUON respects the principle of
legitimacy whenever it processes personal details. This means that
LUON will act completely in accordance with the laws and decrees
relating to this matter. We also guarantee that personal details
will be processed in accordance with the principles of honesty,
finiteness and proportionality. This means that:
- The information
will be obtained and processed honestly and legitimately.
- The information will be processed for specific, clearly defined
purposes, in accordance with the expectations of the person concerned.
- The information will be accurate, and will be updated if necessary.
- The information will only be held during the period of the purpose
for which it is processed.
- Neither too much nor too little information will be collected.
Only information that is relevant to the purpose in question will
be collected.
Finally, LUON strives to ensure the adequate quality
of your details. Personal details that LUON holds and/or processes
is adequately protected and updated. Incorrect, incomplete or irrelevant
information will be deleted. Access to these personal details is
protected by means of a password that is only available to the
data-holder and, of course, within the scope of the purposes for
which the information is processed. Persons within the company
that are involved in the processing of information are informed
of the law on privacy. LUON will undertake all the necessary
technical measures to prevent the accidental destruction, loss,
alteration, access to or inadmissible processing of people's
